This past week the 9th Annual International Color Awards held it's jury and I was happily surprised to be awarded the 3rd Place 'Honor of Distinction' in the 'Amateur' Fashion Category for my image 'Lady in Red'.
The color awards received 5,678 entries from 78 countries.
The Jury represented the industry's biggest names and tastemakers including Contrasto, Rome; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Whitechapel Gallery, London; DDB, Berlin; Forsman & Bodenfors, Gothenburg; Art Beatus Hong Kong; DB Agency, Milan; InStyle Magazine, New York and Kunst Haus Wien, Vienna who reviewed the entries online before making their nominations and honoring 591 title awards and 634 nominees in 33 categories.
Needless to say I was very surprised by this honor and thankful to all who have supported my photographic passion. Special thanks to my mentor Peter Karuna for teaching me how to 'see' the world differently. My colleagues Stewart Henneberry, Neil Sharpe and Terrance Pack who's support and inspiration have helped me become a better photographer. My friends and my mum and dad who's love and support has always been strong and unwavering.
On a side note I also received nominations for the the following photos in the same show:
'Fine Art' category - 'Morning Coffee':
'Children of the World' category - 'Destination Unknown'
'Silhouette' category - 'Texting the Darkness'
